El Paso Water Utilities recently employed FXSA to identify the low laying areas which could be the potential source of water. The area of interest ranged from Fabens to Sierra Blanca, south of I-10 to Rio Grande. This preliminary research was carried out entirely using GIS. Publicly available GIS datasets such as digital elevation models, historical ground water data, water quality data were used for the calculations and analysis. Once the suitable locations were determined, the ownership research was conducted by our Surveying Department. Deliverables included 50 such locations, the property owner and contact information, estimated water depth, and historical water quality data.
