Border West Expressway Loop 375 Project

FXSA is a subconsultant to KBR under a contract with the Abrams-Kiewit Joint Venture, who was awarded with the $600 million Loop 375 Border Highway West Extension Project on April 2014. The project consists of the construction of a new four lane, approximately 9 miles long, from Paisano Drive at Bowie High School to Racetrack Drive on the West Side of El Paso. The project will include tolled lanes, ramps, and connections and intersection improvements. The new four lane highway will be built parallel to I-10, between the Rio Grande River and I-10. The scope of work also includes realignment of BNSF and UP rail lines. FXSA designed relocations and/or adjustment of utilities located within or in the vicinity of the project right-of-way or new rail alignment property. FXSA is also conducting all utility design coordination for the project. Additionally, FXSA is providing SUE services and have conducted 40 test holes to date. FXSA designed water lines as follows: 48” steel - 3,180LF; 12” PVC – 487 LF; 8” PVC – 376 LF; and 6” PVC – 643 LF. FXSA designed sewer lines as follows: 42” steel force main – 6,156 LF; 30” PVC – 1,465 LF; 12” PVC – 547 LF; and 8” PVC – 631 LF. Our team also designed steel casing by boring method as follows: 60” – 1,417 LF; 54” – 84 LF; 24” – 149 LF; 16” – 484 LF; and 12” – 219 LF. Project design started in 2014 and started construction in 2015. Project completion is expected by 2017.
