Grapevine, Ray Roberts, Lavon Lake Boundary Surveys
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX
FXSA performed professional surveying services for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, under an ID A/E contract (Contact No. W9126G08D0012). FXSA completed a work authorization which encompassed over 64 miles of perimeter boundary retracement and over 910 corner monuments along Grapevine, Ray Roberts, and Lavon Lakes, property of the USACE. The survey was conducted conventionally and using state of the art Virtual Reference Station (VRS) GPS technology. Metadata files were submitted in FGDC and ESRI formats. GIS was used throughout the project for generating field maps for survey crew and to address any issues/questions with the client related to field situation. The final boundary and the recovered/set monument locations were imported to GIS along with the attribute information and converted to geo-database format. The photos taken by the survey crew during the boundary retracement were linked to the features (corners and monuments). The ESRI ArcGIS layer files were created so that the information related to the monuments and the photos could be displayed by using simple ESRI ArcMap tools. Maps were created in ArcGIS format containing relevant layers and overlaid on imagery from ArcGIS online. Metadata was compiled and exported in FGDC and ESRI format for both CAD and GIS files.
