The TWDB awarded a grant funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to the City of Valentine, TX in November 2009. The TWDB awarded a $2.5-million-dollar grant, through its Clean Water State Revolving Fund, to construct a new WWTP. The project consisted of the installation of 1 Integrated Facultative Pond (IFP) with flexible membrane liner, concrete structures, access road, and an irrigation field for the treated effluent. This project scored #1 Statewide in Texas for this funding. The project included first time sewer connections for the City of Valentine’s residents as well. FXSA assisted the city in submitting the application and obtaining a 100% grant for the funding in July 2009.
